What is Project LAUNCH?
Project LAUNCH in Erie County, PA helps young children build a strong foundation for lifelong health and learning — while also supporting the parents, caregivers, and families who help them grow.
Led by the Achievement Center of LECOM Health, this initiative promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioral development of children from birth through age 8.
By working with families, caregivers, early childhood providers, and community organizations, Project LAUNCH helps children and the adults who care for them find support early.
Our Goal is Simple
Help children in Erie County, PA grow, learn, and thrive — while supporting the families and caregivers who guide them every day.
Project LAUNCH focuses on:

- Connecting children and families to supportive services sooner

How Project LAUNCH Supports Children and Families
Project LAUNCH brings together families, professionals, and community partners across Erie County, PA to strengthen early childhood supports.
Project LAUNCH works to:
- Raise awareness
Helping families understand early childhood development and where to turn with questions. - Spot concerns early
Encouraging screenings and conversations that help identify developmental needs sooner. - Connect families to support
Improving coordination between physical health care, behavioral health, early learning programs, and community services. - Support parents, caregivers, and professionals
Providing training and practical resources to the adults that support young children. - Strengthen community systems
Helping organizations work together so services are easier for families to find and use.
Together, these efforts help children and families build strong foundations for learning, relationships, and lifelong well-being.
About the National Project LAUNCH Initiative
Project LAUNCH (Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Children’s Health) is a national initiative focused on supporting the healthy development of young children.
Project LAUNCH in Erie County, PA is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) through a five-year grant running from 2024 to 2029.
The initiative is part of LECOM Health and is led locally by the Achievement Center of LECOM Health, working alongside community partners who share a commitment to supporting young children and the families who care for them.
As part of this work, Project LAUNCH convenes the Young Child Wellness Council, bringing together organizations, professionals and parents who are working to strengthen early childhood supports throughout the community.
