Supporting Every Child: Sensory-Informed Care in Early Learning (1 hour)

Supporting Every Child: Sensory-Informed Care in Early Learning (1 hour)

This training helps early childhood professionals better understand how sensory processing shapes a child’s behavior, participation, and ability to learn. Participants explore how children take in, process, and respond to sensory input—and how those differences show up in everyday routines and interactions.

Led in person by a registered Occupational Therapist, this session blends real-world insight with practical strategies you can use right away. You’ll walk away with simple, sensory-informed approaches to support regulation, build predictable routines, and create environments where children feel safe, engaged, and ready to participate.

About the Presenter

This training is facilitated by local Occupational Therapist, Hilary Hobbs. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from D’Youville College and has served in a variety of roles, including Early Intervention Director, and Occupational Therapy Clinical Supervisor.

With over 20 years of experience supporting children and families across clinical and early intervention settings, and certification in Sensory Integration and Praxis Testing, Hilary is an expert in her field.

Hilary's approach is grounded in both professional expertise and lived understanding—she often shares that she “gets it,” and that perspective shows up in the way she connects with both children and the adults who support them.

She brings energy, humor, and a genuine love for this work, with a goal of helping create spaces where every child—and every professional—can feel more confident, supported, and understood.
